FM 740 South Opening

EMINENT DOMAIN LETTERS DUE DEC. 31

AUSTIN (Office of the State Comptroller) – Reminder to all public and private entities authorized to exercise the power of eminent domain in Texas: You must submit a letter to the Comptroller of Public Accounts (via certified, return-receipt mail) detailing your legal authority to exercise this power. That letter must be submitted by Dec. 31.

Aldi Texas purchased a 4.19 acre site on FM 740 and Summer Lee Drive in Rockwall for new grocery store location. A 15,808 SF store is planned for construction later this summer.

Wendy’s^® North America Company-operated restaurants generated a same-store sales increase of 0.8 percent in the first quarter of 2012. This is the fourth consecutive quarter of positive same-store sales. Franchise same-store sales in North America increased 0.7 percent during the quarter.

The Wendy’s system opened 12 new restaurants and closed 25 restaurants during the first quarter, for a net decrease of 13 restaurants, bringing the total number of worldwide restaurants to 6,581 at the end of the first quarter. As previously stated, the Company is targeting the purchase of restaurants from selected franchisees and will operate those restaurants or sell them to new or existing franchisees, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the Image Activation program.

Robert Andersen of Cafe Management Systems will grow the brand in Texas over the next 10 years. Two to four new restaurants are slated to open in the next 12 months in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Development areas include Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Dallas counties.

Sunny Street Cafe seeks locations in newer suburban retail centers with grocery anchors. Space requirements are approximately 3,500 square feet. There are currently four Texas locations; Murphy, The Woodlands, Haltom City and North Richland Hills.
